The 2nd picture (below) shows the connecting rod from the right damper section connecting to the blade of the left damper section. The 2-1/2″ pin on the left section can be thrown away as it is not needed anymore. For taller dampers there may be more connecting rods to attach. (Please consult the factory for the best use of connecting rods.)
Damper with Connecting Rods

A lot of dampers over 48″ wide will be made in sections that are linked together with the use of connecting rods. The first picture above shows how the 2 dampers will ship from the factory. The left damper will have a control rod on the left and the right damper will have a connecting rod on the left. (There will be more connecting rods the taller the damper.)
